PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Tonks has the ability to change her appearance at will, however, unless working, she will usually only indulge in chaging her hair colour. She is short at 5'5" with long hair that can be found in any and all colours, rarely the same colour two days running and her eyes are light brown. Her clothing choice is often as bright as her hair, usually matching.
BACKGROUND: Nymphadora Tonks, now aged 30, was born to with Andromeda Black and Muggle-born wizard, Ted Tonks. She hates her given name and prefers to go by ‘Tonks’ to her family and friends. She attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardy, after which she went on to train to become an Auror, a specially-skilled magical law enforcement officer trained to capture Dark wizards. Tonks was born a Metamorphmagus, a magical gift which gives her the ability to change her appearance at will and this can be seen by the fact that she rarely wears her hair the same colour two days running.
She is known best for using her Auror status as a member of the Order of the Phoenix and working in the Advance Guard during the war against Voldemort. However after her cousin, Sirius Black, was killed, Auror work started to lose its shine for her and she eventually made the decision to quit her career and move on to something that didn’t revolve around Dark magic (effectively what led to her cousin’s death). She left the Auror Squad four years ago to become a Private Detective. She has lived under various guises for some time now and no one can ever be sure if Tonks is who she seems to be. Only her family and friends truly know who she is. As a Metamorphmagus, Tonks can use her ability to change appearance at will to disguise herself during investigations.
PERSONALITY: Without a doubt, Nymphadora Tonks is one the most colorful person you'll ever meet. Once you get to know her, you'll soon find out that she’s as colorful on the inside as she is on the outside.
One of Tonks’ most endearing traits is her ability to find something beautiful in anyone she meets. She rarely feels animosity towards anyone and would be there in heartbeat if her friends needed anything. She wears her heart on her sleeve and loves unconditionally. She is a practical joker at heart, which sees her often getting into trouble whether intentionally or not. Tonks is infamous for her clumsiness, affectionately being termed a “klutz” by her nearest and dearest. Because of this, Tonks’ most used words tend to me ‘Oops’ or ‘Bollocks’. Best to keep valuable breakables out of the way when you’re expecting her.
She mostly sees herself as ‘relationship challenged’; her job making it difficult to keep momentum in anything long-term. At age 24, she started a relationship with Remus Lupin, whom she’d had feelings for for some time. The relationship didn’t work out, however, and they decided to just remain close friends. They still keep in touch regularly and he is probably her closest friend.
OOC NOTES: Because she died in Harry Potter Book 7, this Tonks only draws from Books 1 to 6 in her canon (and technically only from Book 5 when she first appeared in the series). I have altered her background from the end of Book 6 onwards to make her more viable and flexible as an RP character, plus her altered background stems from when I played her in a now inactive Harry Potter RPG.
